An international workshop on "New developments in Persian language optical character recognition" was held by the Department of Information Science and knowledge at the University of Tehran Kish international campus in January, 2018.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Benjamin Kiessling, a Ph.D. in computer science from the Department of Digital Humanities at the University of Leipzig.
The main focus of the Workshop was to retrieve information in the field of humanities using digital technology. During the workshop the data retrieval was presented to the students through using the language and neural networks considering the language patterns of printed and handwritten texts based on the word unit, lines or paragraphs.
