According to the public relations department of Kish International Campus, a scientific lecture titled "The complexity of forecast and anticipation" was presented by Professor Roberto Poli, full professor of philosophy of science at the University of Trento, Italy and the head of the UNESCO chair in the field of forecasting systems at Kish international campus.
This lecture was held with the participation of educational and research assistants of the campus and was warmly welcomed by students and professors alike. At the beginning of his presentation, Professor Poli recalled the seventy year history of anticipation. According to him, anticipation is important since it provokes learning from past experiences in order to use them as a lesson for future (activities). The world ahead is so uncertain and complicated, he added, that we need forecasting systems in order to achieve different possible scenarios in the future.
He went on discussing the difference between forecast, foresight and anticipation and while defining each topic, considered them of great importance in the field of future studies. At the beginning of this ceremony, Dr. Mohammad Reza Saeedabadi, associate professor of international relations at Tehran University and vice - presidant for national relation at the University of Tehran Kish International Campus pointed to the importance of holding training courses by enumerating Kish campus internationalization programs such as admitting foreign students and instituting common courses of student exchange with some important and notable foreign universities.
In the afternoon of that very day, a special session forum was held in Kish campus with the presence of Professor Roberto Poli and Dr. Saeedabadi. A number of Professors and PhD students interested in international cooperation in the field of anticipation were also present in this session and they took part in discussing and exchanging views on further collaboration processes.
